Ingredients
large challah loaf, torn or cut into 1 inch pieces
8 Bowl & Basket large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup Bowl & Basket granulated sugar
2 cups Bowl & Basket milk
1 1/2 cups Bowl & Basket heavy cream
1 tbs Bowl & Basket vanilla extract
1/4 tsp Bowl & Basket ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Powdered sugar, optional topping
strawberries, optional topping
blueberries, optional topping
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375 and grease a 13 x 9 inch casserole dish with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar until well blended, then whisk in milk, whipping cream, vanilla, cinnamon and salt.
- Spread challah bread cubes out evenly in the prepared casserole dish. Gently pour egg mixture over bread cubes, making sure to coat all bread.
- Sprinkle with a little extra sugar, then bake in a preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and set.
- Let cool slightly, then serve with maple syrup, powdered sugar, and fresh berries!
